There were 14 members plus our speaker Cathy Loomans at our Monday meeting. Glen and Jackie were our greeters. Glen had grace.  Charlene had humor. Gary Miller had a happy buck for his Texas trip and the chance to meet Dave Krug. The Satellite Club is collecting personal care items for the FDL Foster Care bags. They would like to donate twenty five bags again this year. Questions, contact myself or member of satellite club for list of items needed. Gary Miller is planning an interclub for April 11th at West Bend German Night. The Bob Last Golf Outing is May 18th. Jerry King will be going on an Honor Flight on April 11th. He will arrive back in Appleton around 8:00. Visitors are welcome at the airport. Steve reminded all members about the Downtown Fest of Ale on April 13th. If you don’t have a Kiwanis T-shirt, contact Chris Serres. John was the winner and winner.  He drew the four of Hearts. There are now 46 cards left and a pot of $40.00. Remember that we have a Kiwanis web page and Facebook. If you are on Facebook, you can like our page.

Senior Center, Cathy Loomans

The Senior Center is for 50 and older. In 2017, they had 68,000 visits. The trend for the Senior Centers is that members will come in for the program and not stay all day. The city funds the building and the manager. Friends fund all the other expenses by fund raising. A lot of the new programs are geared for senior wellness. In addition, they are a senior meal site. For $3.00, you can get lunch Monday thru Friday. The travel group is part of the Friends. They have a gift shop. They use every square inch of the building for their programs. The Senior Center just turned fifty years old. Join the Friends group today. It helps support the Senior Center and you will a monthly newsletter with all their activities.
