The Best Way to Help Boys and Girls

Monday Morning

There were 12 members plus one guest at our Monday meeting.  Joscelyn Deanovich was our speaker.  Steve was our greeter. Jim had the grace and Charlene had the humor. Happy bucks came from Gary and Dawn. Reminder, Mid-Winter is Feb. 11th. John was a winner and non- winner. He drew the six of hearts. We still have 37cards, 5 winners and a pot of $210.00.  Trinity Baptist auction is this Friday at the old St. Pats gym. Wine Around the World is January 28th at Holiday Inn. The February social will be at the Meadows. Date will be announced  soon. Side note – Del is at home and loves visitors.  Remember that we have a Kiwanis web page and Facebook. Joscelyn Deanovich, Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Our speaker was Joscelyn Deanovich, community based Program Coordinator for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She has been with BB/BS since October. BB/BS is about to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Big’s need to do two activities a month with their little’s. You can be a Big, Big couple, or Big family. You must be 18 and be approved by BB/BS. They have a number of fund raisers. They are Bowling for Kids, Lobster Boil, Cars for Kids, and 5k Splash and Dash. They have 125 Littles’s enrolled and 49 on the waiting list.  For more information go to their web page, www.bbbsfdl.org

United to Help

Monday Morning

There were 14 members at our Monday meeting plus one guest, Amber Kilawee. Amber was our guest speaker.  John and Bonnie were our greeters. Glen had grace. Harry had the humor. Happy bucks came from Bonnie, Sharon, Jim and Dan. Jim won again and drew the queen of diamonds, no winner.  We have 40cards, 6 winners and a pot of $150.00. Amber Kilawee, United Way

Amber Kilawee Director of the Fond du Lac United Way was our program on Monday. The fund Raising Committee presented a check for $800.00 from proceeds of Fondue Fest. United Way funded over $570,000 last year. There are twenty six different agencies from Habitat to Astop. In between, there is Senior Center, Girl Scouts, YMCA and Catholic Charities to name a few. Almost 30,000 individuals are served by United Way agencies. Harry’s check presentation photo and a link to their video (Fred) are on our Facebook. One Approach to Your Health You Must Integrate

Monday Morning

There were 16 members at our Monday meeting plus two guests, Dr. Jennifer Norden and Gail Luttenberger. Jennifer was our guest speaker and Gail was here to check on Mark.  Charlene and Steve were our greeters. Gary had grace. Steve had the humor. Happy bucks came from Bonnie, Mark, Charlene and Steve. Glen won again and drew the six of clubs and won nothing.  We have 43 cards, 7 winners and a pot of $55.00. Fourteen members qualified for the rewards program for last year. Their charity will receive $50 from the Kiwanis.   Rules of the program are participating in three fund raising events for total of at least twenty hours, participate in two interclubs, and participate in two community service projects. All activities must be reported to Harry. Any questions please check with Harry.  Side note – Del is at home and loves visitors.  Bookworms is having a fundraiser at East Culver’s on Nov. 14th from 5 – 7:00. Jennifer Norden, Agnesian Healthcare Integrative Care

Dr. Jennifer Norden does integrative health at St. Agnes. Integrative Health is a good whole person medicine. She works with each patient to find what they need to heal. She uses mediation, yoga, healthy eating, deep breathing, acupuncture and supplements. A couple of her rules, exercise only on days that you eat. Take vitamin D during the winter. Review your mediations yearly with your doctor. She helps solve chronic medical issues such as: anxiety, cancer, chronic pain, depression, fibromyalgia irritable syndrome and stress.
