History from Stones

Monday Morning

There were 17 members plus two guests, Tracy Reinhardt and Jim Serres at the Monday’s meeting.  Jackie and Jim were the greeters. Gary Miller did the grace. Charlene had the humor. Dawn had happy bucks for the hay harvest and kid’s baseball games. Gary Miller had a happy buck for the great life Donna’s aunt had. She passed away at 102. Charlene had two bucks for kids’ game and her son’s band. Glen had a happy buck for his eight grandkids. Mark had a buck for all his relatives. Steve had a happy buck for his newest grandchild born 8 minutes ago. Special thanks for all those who set and attended the Annual Picnic. We had over sixty people there. We had both baseball teams, Key Club, band boosters and Family Resource Center. Bonnie has the sign up for Dock Spiders on July 30th. If you are signed up, please get your money to Bonnie. Rienzi Cemetary, Tracy Reinhardt

If stones could talk, this is the third of Tracy’s presentations to our club. She talked about the Night the church’s burned and Lakeside Park. Rienzi Cemetery was started by Governor Nathaniel Potter Tallmadge in 1845 He donated eight acres to bury his son, William. Today, it covers 100 acres and has 24,000 individuals buried here. In additional to Rienzi there are another 119 cemeteries in Fond du Lac County. James Doty and Mason Darling were two of the original land developers in Fond du lac. Seeing Business Boom in Fond du Lac

There were 17 members plus one guest, Cecilia Harry at the Monday’s meeting.  Glen and Pete were our greeters. Dan did the grace. Charlene did the humor. She is getting so good that we is looking for an open mic to do her humor.  Bonnie, John, and Gary had happy bucks. The date for the Picnic is June 27th. Charlene has the signup sheet. Bonnie has the sign up for Dock Spiders on July 30th.  There was a special welcome to Cathy Loomans, our newest member. Date change – June Board Meeting is June 18th. The Satellite Club donated $250 to the Wounded Warrior Game on August 11th. They will play two games at the Doc Spiders Stadium.  They will play the Fire Department and Police department. Proceeds from the game will go to a camp to help handicapped children. Marlin was the winner and loser. He drew the eight of clubs. There are now 40 cards left and a pot of $136.00. Cecilia Harry, Envision Greater Fond du Lac

The Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce was the voice of Fond du Lac businesses. The Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation was responsible to bring and expand business. They were merged July 1, 2017 to become Envision Greater Fond du Lac. They will be one group with one voice for the businesses of the Fond du Lac Area.  Cecilia is the new president of the combined group. It took almost three years to merge the groups. They have moved into a new office at 23 S. Main St. Cecilia and her family moved here from Omaha. She is certified economic developer. She graduated from Notre Dame with masters from Washington University.

Giving Every Athlete a Chance to Compete

There were 15 members plus two guests, Brian Shaver and Chelsey from ARC at the Monday’s meeting.  Marlin and Chris were our greeters. Harry did the grace. And Charlene did the humor. Bonnie had a happy buck. MPTC had over over 800 graduates. Date change – June Board Meeting is June 18th. The Satellite Club donated $250 to the Wounded Warrior Game on August 11th. They will play two games at the Doc Spiders Stadium.  They will play the Fire Department and Police department. Proceeds from the game will go to a camp to help handicapped children. Young Athletes and Special Olympics

It is the ARC’s goal to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society, by offering opportunities to develop and demonstrate their talents through sport training and competition and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs. It will all start with Young Athletes. Young Athletes introduces children, ages 2 – 7, both with and without intellectual disabilities, and their families to the world of Special Olympics by pursuing program goals. Brian and Chelsey are setting a fall and spring session. This will be run thru the YMCA for eight weeks.
