Agensian Cancer Center

Monday Morning

There were 16 members at our Monday meeting plus one guest. Our guest, Bill Daly, director of Cancer Center was our speaker.  Jim and John were our greeters. Harry had the grace. Charlene had  rumor. Marlin reported that we sold twenty three more tickets than last year. Please get all money and tickets to Marlin as soon as possible. Marlin, Harry and John thanked the club, Trinity Baptist, and Key club for all their help. Jim drew the Jack of Diamonds and won nothing.  Rules of the game; draw a 5 or 10 and win that amount. Draw the Queen of Hearts and win 50% of the pot. Visitors can only win $25. We have 48 cards, 7 winners and a pot of $16. Oakfield Storybook Land has their open house from 9:30 to 11:30 on Saturday. Side note – Del is at home and loves visitors.  Sharon needs a replacement to be our representative for the Boys and Girls Club on October 12th.  Dawn is looking for a volunteer to ber our Vice President for the coming year. Bill Daly, Cancer Center

Bill Daly is the director of the Cancer Center. St. Agnes started their program in 1983 with Dr. Wang. They moved into the Cancer Center in 1994. They started with satellites in Oshkosh and Berlin. Their two satellites are now Waupun and Ripon. Bill reports that the programs continue to improve since 1983. In additions they have more options with the drugs available. They have also added social workers, dietician, nurse practitioners, genetic counseling, and clinical trials.

There were 17 members at our Monday meeting plus one guest. Our guest, Nicole Johnson, executive director of Solutions Center was here for a check presentation and our speaker.  Sharon had the grace. Steve had rumor? Marlin reported that we sold twenty three more tickets than last year. Marlin, Harry and John thanked the club, Trinity Baptist, and Key club for all their help. Chris drew the ten of spades and won $10 dollars.  Rules of the game; draw a 5 or 10 and win that amount. Draw the Queen of Hearts and win 50% of the pot. Visitors can only win $25. We have 49 cards, 7 winners and a pot of $8. Dawn is looking for volunteers for an interclub to the Evening Club on Oct, 5th. Their guest speaker is Mrs. Wisconsin. They meet at Fat Joes. Nicole Johnson – Solutions Center

Nicole Johnson, executive director of Solutions Center came for the check presentation. Steve Millin presented Nicole with a $5,000 check to be used to remodel their kitchen at the women’s center. At the present time they have four shelters. The women’s center combines homeless and domestic violence. They have a men’s shelter, family shelter and the warming shelter. Salvation Army is taking over the warning shelter. The new location is not available at this time. The also run Outreach Programs and legal advocacy programs.

There were 11 members and one guest, Andrew Busker at our Monday meeting. Jim had the grace. Charlene and Harry had rumor? We were greeted by Marlin and Chris. Harry reported that we sold 300 pounds and raised a little over $2,000. Both Harry and John thanked the club and Key club for all their help. Reminder, Gary Miller was a winner of the 50/50 raffle. New game, Jim drew the seven of diamonds, no winner. Rules of the game; draw a 5 or 10 and win that amount. Draw the Queen of Hearts and win 50% of the pot. Visitors can only win $25. We have 51 cards, 9 winners and a pot of $8. Side note – Del is at home and loves visitors.  Sharon will be our representative for the Boys and Girls Club on October 12th.  Mahala’s Hope has their open house on September 17th from 1-5. Andrew Busker – FdL Rec Department

Andrew is the program director for the Rec Dept. He handles the Youth Enrichment Program and Playground Program. The playgrounds are Riverside, Evans and Rosenow. The Rec Dept handles both adult softball and adult pickle ball. Programs that they are working on are Pokémon Go hikes, a Pickle ball social, adult fall softball and adult bus trips.
