Thank you so much to everyone in the Fond du Lac area who came out and helped make our Pork Fest fundraiser a resounding success. Our preliminary numbers show that we fed over 1,500 pork chop meals with the help of our own Key Clubbers and Trinity Baptist School who helped serve and bus tables. Beyond the money that was raised, which will all go back into the community, we were also able to help the community out in another way by donating two carloads of leftovers to the broken bread program. The Kiwanis of Fabulous Fond du Lac are committed to helping make our community a better place to live, and we thank you again for the part that you had in making it possible. Be on the lookout for announcements of financial donations and gifts that are possible because of the community’s support of fundraisers like this.

North Fond du Lac Key Club Takes the Polar Plunge!
The Kiwanis of Fabulous Fond du Lac would just like to congratulate this year’s Polar Plunge team from the Horace Mann Key Club. The team raised $1,906 which is a new team record. The team dressed as Minions from Despicable Me with the following members willingly sacrificing their sanity and warmth for the frigid waters of Lake Winnebago: Michael Friedel, Desmond Krahn, Erica Schwartz, Tianna Robinson, Kendra Lallier, Dakota Wesenberg, Tessa Schwersinske, Amanda Schneider, Tyler Kohnke, Riley Behnke, Gabby Thielke, Morgan Breister, and Emily Romuald.
Last year the team placed 15th in the state for money raised by high schools. All the proceeds raised help support the Special Olympics Organization in Wisconsin.
Thank You to each of the team members for your willingness to plunge and for everyone who helped support our cause.

Storybook Land 2014
The Fondy High Key Clubbers spent their Saturday afternoon corralling and entertaining hundreds of young people at their annual Storybook Land event. The event is geared to encourage reading in young people by bringing books to life through the acting and antics of the Fondy High Key Club members. Children of all ages (including parents) enjoy the carefree excitement of the Key Clubbers in their presentation of several classic storybooks. This year the group presented Snow White, Peter Pan, The Cat in the Hat, Beauty and the Beast, and a sing-a-long of “Old MacDonald.”
After touring through the different storybook lands, each child is given the opportunity to choose a book of their own to take home and read or have read to them. Through the generosity of the Key Club and their sponsors, children had the choice of many different age appropriate reading materials, from Sesame Street babies books to Flat Stanley, several historical and scientific learning books, and even The Babysitter’s Club. Young people were thrilled with the event and left with a renewed excitement toward the adventures of reading. Good job, Key Clubbers!
