Tracy Reinhardt, Building on a Legacy
Tracy gave us recap of the Historical Society and the Galloway House. In order to insure the continuation of both, they need volunteers. Prior to the Galloway Village, the Old Settlers club was started in the 1800’s. Galloways donated the house in 1954. It had been vacate for twenty three years. The family collected and donated a number of pieces of furniture back to the house. The start of adding the others buildings began with the Log Cabin in 1962. They continued adding buildings thru the 2000. The Welling House was added in 1971. In 1972, the Railroad Depot and Caboose were added. The Firehouse with original doors from the North Main Fire Station were added in 1975. The Blakely family built the Blakely Museum in 1980. In 1987, the Pavilion was built by the Exchange Club. This is all located on 16 acres. It takes lots of money and volunteers to keep the buildings in good shape. They try to work on three buildings a year.
