Monday Morning
There were 16 members at our Monday meeting plus one guest. Maggie Weisen was our guest speaker. Charlene had the humor. She is almost professional. We were greeted by the Gary Miller and Charlene. Dave LeFeber led us in grace. Happy bucks came from Bonnie, Gary Miller and Chris. Bonnie gave a special thank you for all those who worked the trail cleanup on Saturday. We had twelve hard workers. Jackie was the raffle winner again. She picked the eight of spades, no winner. Next Monday’s 50/50 Raffle will have 23 cards in the game including the five pay cards with a pot of about $393. We have a projector for our speakers; please contact Gary Miller if you need it. Speaking of programs for the future, get information to Dave or myself. We have donated money to support Dream Catchers. They have two games in May, the 7th and 21st. Save the dates, more detail on the group to follow.
Maggie Weisen, Charis Pregnancy Help Center
Maggie has been the driving force behind starting Charis Pregnancy Help Center. Vision – Charis will offer pregnancy options education in a non-judgmental; Christ centered environment; giving hope to those who don’t know where to turn and helping to break generational cycles of dysfunction by responsibly distributing resources that are “earned”. Maggie has been a RN since 1984. She is basing Charis, which means grace, on the Hospice program. The program should be up and running by July 1st. All services are confidential and will be at no cost to the clients. The Help Center will be a clinic that specializes in pregnancy diagnosis and pregnancy decisions. All medical services are provided under the supervision of a Wisconsin licensed physician. Services include pregnancy testing, obstetrical ultrasounds, medical referrals and reproductive health information. Charis does not perform or refer for abortions. Fund raising includes coins in baby bottle, baby showers and bake sales. They will take no government funding.
