Kiwanis Happenings – February 16, 2012

Monday Morning
We had 23 members and two guests at Monday’s meeting. Joining us were our guest speaker, Katie Rose from Family Resource Center and Cathy Flood, Director of Human Resources at Marian University, a guest of Bonnie Baerwald. “Happy Bucks” were offered by Gary Miller, for attendance at the Mid-Winter Conference, Vickie Goldapske for a safe sturgeon spearing opening weekend attended by her entire family, and Gary Ring for a successful “Happy Hour Social” last Thursday. Gary Miller is trying to put together an InterClub for next Tuesday or Wednesday to one of the Ripon Clubs. Check your calendar and let Gary know if you’re available. The NFDL Key Club is participating in the Polar Plunge this weekend in Oshkosh, donations are welcome to help them in this frigid fundraiser. Jan Krug kicked off an effort to raise a $100 to get Gary Miller to do the Polar Plunge. By the end of the meeting Jan had raised $135 and it looks like Gary is going in the drink on Saturday. Somebody get pictures!! Gary Miller was the 50/50 Raffle winner and he drew a Jack of Diamonds, not a winner. There are now 35 cards left in the deck, four of which are pay cards. Still lots of money to win and four cards to do it with.
