Our Key Club Will Wow You with Their Service

Monday Morning

We had 13 members at our Monday Appreciation Breakfast at Fond du Lac High School.  We had a large turnout of Key Clubbers, their two advisors, Chris Stelmacher and Sandi Berka, Principal Michelle Hagen and Assistant Principals, Paulene Mueller, Anthony Pizzo, Timothy Scottberg and Peter Snyder.  A bountiful breakfast of pancakes, sausage, fruit, bagels, juice and coffee was enjoyed by all.  There was no 50/50 Raffle drawing on Monday.  Next week’s drawing will have 41 cards, including seven pay cards, and a pot of at least $128.

Fondy High Key Club

The Fond du Lac High School Key Club had a member attend the 59th Annual District Convention (DCON) the weekend of March 14th in Green Bay.  The member told us about her experience at DCON, all the kids that attended (over 800) and how it inspired her to get more involved in her local Key Club organization.  She also thanked us for helping her get to go to DCON.

Eleven Key Clubbers then talked briefly about service projects that they participated in and why they found them to be a great thing for their Key Club to do.  Those eleven projects were:

  • Monthly ARC Bingo
  • Shop With A Cop
  • Girl Scout Dance
  • Parkside Knowledge A Thon
  • Story Book Land
  • Monthly YMCA Middle School Dance
  • Make A Difference Day
  • Food Pantry Assistance
  • Parent Back To School Night
  • Rienzi Cemetery Historical Tour
  • Grief Relief Event

Gary Ring officially thanked both Chris and Sandi for all they do for our Club in helping the Key Club members operate this long standing Key Club.  Chris and Sandi also publicly thanked Gary Ring for all that does as our Club’s liaison to the Key Club.

The last item of business on Monday morning was the introduction of the new Officers for the Key Club for next year.  Looks like a great batch of young adults to lead next year’s Key Club members.

More Key Club Service!

The Fond du Lac High School Key Clubbers have been as busy as Santa’s elves.  Over the next several weeks they’ll be helping with Shop With a Cop, Fondy Food Pantry to create holiday grocery boxes, ARC Bingo Night, Christmas Cookie Decorating, and Christmas Adopt-A-Family.

They also have coming up over the next several months the ARC house cleaning, Polar Plunge, and Reading at the Children’s Museum. Keep an eye out for the Key Clubbers as they endeavor to make our community and world a better place to live. We are proud of our key clubbers and encourage them to keep up the fantastic work.

What Can a Group of Teenagers Get Done?

key_clubA lot, as a matter of fact, especially if they are the North Fond du Lac Key Club. This group is made up 58 North Fond du Lac high school students who believe their time is better spent helping others than serving themselves. We salute this great group of future leaders who are helping make the world and our community a better place. Here is just a sample of some of the ways they are out to improve the world they live in:

  • Donated $40 to FDL Stock the Shelves
  • Contributed $155 to two different Adopt-a-Family projects in the District
  • Donated $200 toward the turkey drive
  • Recent donut sale generated a $65 profit
  • Helped out at the Optimist’s Pancake Breakfast and received a $159 donation
  • Helped the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Project by helping to pack toys and distribute them to the children.
