Kiwanis Details Update

Monday Morning

There were 16 members at our Monday meeting .Steve and Charlene were our greeters. Jackie had the grace. Steve had the humor.  Dawn announced that the District WI-UM convention is in Fond du Lac August 18-20th.  She is looking for attendees and volunteers to work the event. Bonnie announced that we are landscaping for Habitat on July 18 from 4:00 to 7:30.  Back to school program will be August 5th and August 26th.  John was a winner and small winner. He drew the ten of spades for $10.00. There are 48 cards left and a pot of $30.00.  Remember that we have a Kiwanis web page and Facebook. If you are on Facebook, like our page.  We have a projector for our speakers; please contact John if you need it. Speaking of programs for the future, get information to Jackie or myself. Board Meeting Recap

Dan recapped the Membership Committee survey. If you need a copy contact Dan. The rescheduled picnic is 5 – 8 at Deneuve Shelter on July 19th. Contact Charlene to attend. Bring your shovel, rake, and gloves to 501 Farwell Ave to help with landscaping on July 18th. Sign up with Bonnie for the Dock In addition; she has signup sheets for Back to School programs on August 5th and 26th. Harry reported that we made almost $28,000.00 at Walleye. Total numbers of volunteer hours were over 1000 hours. We donated $2,500 to Band Boosters and $500.00 to Family Resource Center for their help. Fondue Fest is cancelled this year. We move on to Pork Fest on September 28th. We will need your help on the 27th and 28th. In addition don’t forget to get your cake recipe ready.  Gary Miller has scheduled an interclub for Ripon Morning on Wednesday July 19th. Charlene had the humor.  Dan had a happy buck for his new parking lot. Dawn announced that the District WI-UM convention is in Fond du Lac August 18-20th.  She is looking for attendees and volunteers to work the event. Bonnie announced that we are landscaping for Habitat on July 18 from 4:00 to 7:30.  Back to school program will be August 5th and August 26th.  Pete was a winner and loser. He drew the seven of hearts. There are 49 cards left and a pot of $30.00.  Remember that we have a Kiwanis web page and Facebook. Ryan Moede, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders

Ryan is the general manager of the Dock Spiders. He has been with the Timber Rattlers/Dock Spiders for six years. They play at Marian’s Baker Field and are part of the Northwood League. There are twenty teams in the league and they play seventy two games. The teams are from Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota and Iowa. Timber Rattlers spend 1.5 million to renovate the stadium for their play. There are two full time employees, nine interns and 100 part time employees. Zac Charbonneau is the team manager and is responsible for requiting the thirty members of the teams.

Dawn announced that the District WI-UM convention is in Fond du Lac August 18-20th.  She is looking for attendees and volunteers to work the event. Gina Rieder, College for Kids

Gina is a social studies teacher at Sabish during the regular year. College for Kids is 27 years old. It is part of the UW Extension System. It is an all day camp for student’s grades fifth thru eighth. There are about 190 students in the program. There is also a younger program second thru fourth grades. It is called Leaps. They offer a number enchantment classes. In the off summer season they offer soccer, gymnastics, travel and ACT practice tests. They are grouped together with the Fox Valley and Manitowoc campuses. We sponsored a scholarship for one of their students.
