Monday Morning

We had 19 members and three guests at our Monday meeting back at the Retlaw Hotel.  Joining us as guests were our speaker, Sergeant Jeff Bonack and FDL High School Key Clubbers Jacob Kroll & and Annie Moore.  “Happy Bucks” were offered by Bonnie Baerwald for surviving her first MPTC graduation as Interim President, Gary Miller in memory of fallen law enforcement officers who were remembered last week and Chris Serres for her and Jim’s upcoming trip to Washington, DC with several other couples to visit their son.  Chris Serres was the 50/50 Raffle drawing winner this week. She drew the Four of Clubs so she’s not taking any extra cash with her on vacation, sorry.   Next week’s drawing will have 38 cards, including seven pay cards, and a pot of at least $174.

Jeff Bonack, Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Department Dive Team

Sergeant Jeff Bonack has been part of the FDL County Dive Team since 1991 and is currently the Team Leader.  Jeff is a 1985 graduate of Waupun High School and he was able to get his first patrol job with the FDL County Sheriff’s Department at the age of 23.  The Fond du Lac County Dive Team consists of eight members trained with the following dive certifications; basic open water, advanced open water, rescue diver, and ice diving. The team responds to all bodies of water throughout Fond du Lac County and provides mutual aid assistance to other jurisdictions if requested. The Dive Team is utilized for underwater search and rescue/recovery of victims, evidence, and other water related services. To aid the Dive Team in faster response times the dive team has a fully equipped dive van. When responding on bodies of water the dive team utilizes the department’s boats and emergency rescue windsled.  The dive team trains several times throughout the year to remain proficient in all aspects of diving.

Jeff talked about the various equipment that the Dive Team uses and he also talked about some of the excursions that they’ve had while he’s been on the Team.  All the Dive Team members have full time jobs in the Sheriff’s Department and respond to Dive Team calls as their duties and schedules permit.  Thanks Jeff.
