Monday Morning

There were 19 members at our Monday meeting plus one guest. He was Justin Hahn, our speaker. The greeters were no shows. Jackie King led us in grace. Steve had the humor. He is almost as good as Charlene. Happy bucks came from Bonnie. She was happy to leave Arizona.  We have all kinds of fund raisers, Gary Ring for Grief Relief, and Pete for South Shore Coracle on April 23 & 24th and Harry for the K/C Raffle. Drawing is April 12th. Our speaker picked Marlin again. He picked the seven of clubs for a non-winner. Next Monday’s 50/50 Raffle will have 26 cards in the game including the five pay cards with a pot of about $330.  We have a projector for our speakers; please contact Gary Miller if you need it. According to my records, we have used our new projector four times for a savings of $200.00

Justin Hahn – Kiwanis Key Leaders

Kiwanis Key Leader – Inspire a leader. Today’s teen are tomorrow’s leaders. Through Key Leader, we can make a difference. This year’s program is September 16 – 18th at Camp Wawbeek. The program is open to all students from 14 – 20 years of age. Key Club students get a $25 discount on the program. Kiwanis started this program in 2005. They have had anywhere from 40 to 70 students attend. How can we get involved in Key Leader? We can sponsor a student. We can volunteer to help at the Key Leader weekend. The program focuses on Service Leadership. Five Key principles are: personal integrity, personal growth, respect, building community and pursuit of excellence. The mission of Key Leader is to provide a life-changing experience that inspires young people to achieve their personal best through service leadership.
