North Fond du Lac High School Key Club

Jean Hintze, NFDL Horace Mann Key Club Advisor, and a number of NFDL Key Clubbers welcomed us on Monday morning for our Annual Appreciation Breakfast.  No one should have gone away hungry as they provided a wonderful variety of bagels, breakfast sweets, various fruit offerings and juice and coffee.  Jean turned the program over to the Key Clubbers and they led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Key Club Creed.  The current officers then introduced next year’s list of officers.  They noted that they had 62 members this year and raised almost $503 from five different fund raisers.  They also detailed all of the activities/money donated back to the community. They donated $2,319 back to a number of causes in addition to a total of over 2,080 hours of volunteer time to a long list of causes/agencies.  The list included things such as Friendship Learning Center Halloween Party, NFDL Optimist Pancake Breakfast, Friendship Learning Center Tutoring, Autism Child Care and many, many more.  The group then talked about a special project (Riley’s Project) that provided household/personal care items to needy families.  The NFDL Key Club also had another banner year of Excellence Award Winners (Five Members) at this Spring’s DCON.  The NFDL Key Club Scholarship Awardees; Riley Behnke, Shelby Demboski, Nicole Fox, Alexus Kraus and Elizabeth Redmond were introduced and gave a brief report of where they’re going to college and what they hope to study.  And finally, the new officers unveiled their goals for next year; new volunteer venues, 10 Excellence Award Winners at DCON, Polar Plunge continued success and continue to collaborate with NHS and Student Council.  GREAT JOB!!

Fond du Lac Key Club Appreciation Breakfast

The Fondy High Key Club put on a wonderful breakfast for our members on Monday morning. In addition to breakfast the Key Clubber also thanked us for our sponsorship of their group both financially and personally through Chris Stelmacher and Gary Ring. The various officers, both outgoing and incoming, talked about the various projects that their Club has done during the year and what they hope to do in the next year. They highlighted their signature projects; monthly ARC Bingo, their Annual Storybook Land, organizing of the Youth Service Day and providing children’s books to every baby born at St. Agnes Hospital. They had video clips of their most recent Storybook Land where they entertained over 300 children for the morning by acting out various stories. The NFDL Key Club also joined in by acting out one of the five stories presented. The Fondy High Key Club has about 100 paid members of which roughly 50% are very active members.

At the end of the breakfast Jan Krug presented Chris Stelmacher with a Gift Certificate from our Club as a small token of our appreciation for all the work she has done with this Key Club over the past 28+ years.

Kiwanians Enjoy Annual Key Club Appreciation at Fondy High

Monday Morning
We had 16 members at the Fond du Lac High School Key Club Appreciation Breakfast last Monday at Fond du Lac High School. No one should have gone away hungry and the service was very nice. We’ll be back at Main Street Café and Lounge on Monday so don’t forget where you’re going. Also, don’t forget that the next raffle drawing on Monday will have 26 cards, eight pay cards and a pot of at least $343.

Fond du Lac High School Key Club
Our Club was welcomed on Monday morning by a large contingent of Fond du Lac High School Key Clubbers. They provided our members with a wonderful breakfast. The Key Clubbers then told us about their Club and the various things they do during their school year. The Fond du Lac High School Key Club currently has 130 members with about 70 of that number being very active. Key Clubbers average between 20 and 200 hours of volunteer time per month, an excellent accomplishment. They had two Key Clubbers that participated in this year’s Polar Plunge, which our Club helped to support. Their signature project is the Annual StoryBook Land that was held in March this year at the High School. They had over 200 children attend this event and they had almost all of their Key Club members helping out in one way or another. All the children that attended the StoryBook Land received a Golden Book to take home. The Key Club has projects they do every month. Two of those projects are ARC Bingo and working at the Fondy Food Panty. At the Fondy Food Pantry they stock shelves and help pack lunches for kids. The Key Club also had an exhaustive list of the various projects (over 40) they did this year posted for our information. A sample of those pro-jects were helping at our Pork Fest, help-ing at the Human Race, ARC Christmas Party, Taste of FDL, Salvation Army Bell Ringers, Culver’s Night Fundraiser, Movie Night and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl-ing just to name a few. The breakfast end-ed with a special thank you to the Advisors for all their guidance and it included flow-ers and lots of hugs. Thanks Chris and Danielle for doing such a great job with these young adults.
