Sandi Smet & Quinn Devereaux, Badger Girls State

Sandi Smet from the American Legion Auxiliary introduced Quinn Devereaux from last summer class. They sponsored eight high school girls last summer. The students learn about state government. The program is one week at UW Oshkosh campus. Quinn had to write an essay to St. Mary’s Spring to be considered. Things that she enjoyed the best were learning parliamentary procedures and meeting Governor Scott Walker. Wisconsin. It also helps the girls learn leadership skills. The cost is about $275 per student for the week. The Badger Boy’s program is at the Ripon Campus. We have donated money to American Legion Auxiliary for a number of years.
