About Kiwanis

Kiwanis Name

The name Kiwanis means “we trade” or “we share our talents.” It was coined from an American Indian expression Nunc-Kee-Wanis.

Kiwanis International

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 by a group of volunteers joining together to form a fellowship. A higher purpose soon emerged as the group evolved into a passionate service club helping children and young adults.
Today, with its world headquarters in Indianapolis, IN; the organization is a thriving body of service-minded individuals of all ages.
